I've been trying to draw a lot of non-exo people lately and i'm suffering because of it OTL so far i have taemin, yesung, youngjae, sungjong, yoona, changmin, and a few japanese actors on my list but there's no way i'm going to get through all of them anytime soon O__O so people who requested drawings from me, please be patient!><
searching for good reference pictures is hard because google image search has its limits and i'm very very picky about the pictures i use
and i'm finding that i can only draw people i find to be aesthetically pleasing LOL this is terrible><

You portrayed Ren very well! The contrast of the background and the figure plus the lighting really set the mood (I like how it is vertical and streaky ^^) they give the piece an eerie feeling; he's very bright, almost a ghost ehehe. <3
I do have a bit of advice ;v; I notice that the shadow on his neck has a bit of an outline on the left where the bright light hits. Rather than outlining it, I recommend that you use a sharp eraser to make the edge of the shadow rather than defining it with pencil. ><;; When using this technique though, you have to shade a little over the edge of where the shading of the shadow starts so you have room to cut it off when you erase it to make it precise. ^^ I'm sorry if that was confusing and my advice may be of no help.. T_T

Oh also, "i can only draw people i find to be aesthetically pleasing" LOL that's okay! It's actually beneficial because if you like the figure that you're drawing, then you're more motivated to try harder at drawing them ehehe. <3
and ahaha it's okay, it's not like you're forcing me into drawing him or anything~ i just might place him near the bottom of my drawing list is all;3 and i know what you mean, takeru seems more real, in some sense. i reaaaaaally like sato takeru ahaha. i have a guy friend who looks startlingly like him and i always call him takeru on accident^^
If you ever feel like drawing Takeru, seriously, by all means, have a ball.

I know, me, too...It's awful, I don't know how much longer I can stand this.
It's just -- period drama acting means speaking in old Japanese, and it's so easy to get caught up in saying it correctly and forget about putting in emotion lol. Hopefully takeru doesn't do that
